Poll: Teens Like SMS More than Facebook

While it’s clearly sefl-serving it’s also consistent with other third party data: a poll recently taken by ChaCha among US teens (n=1,500) asserts that they prefer SMS as a mode of communication to Facebook. The survey asked:

What’s your favorite way to communicate?

  • Mobile Text — 67.5%
  • Mobile Call/Voice — 9.2%
  • Facebook — 8.8%
  • Instant Message — 2.9%
  • Email — 0.3%
  • Other — 11.2% (largest % for “other” for this question was “in person”)

If any of these items were taken away, what would you miss the most?

  • Mobile Phone — 60.7%
  • Computer — 17.8%
  • Radio — 11%
  • TV — 10.6%
