Broadband in North Dakota Approximately 75% of North Dakota residents have access to broadband on the Gigabit level. As a result, the state ranks one of the best in broadband and internet access, according to US News. However the state is committed to ensuring that all rural and urban locations can achieve strong connectivity to promote economic growth, innovation and education. In 2018, upgrades to the state fiber internet network began, which would provide 1 Gigabit access to every school district in the state. These changes will have an impact beyond school districts and enable homes, hospitals, and business locations to benefit as well.
