Broadband in Missouri The Office of Broadband Development was created to address the deficiencies in broadband reach throughout the state.
Initial goals are to establish a minimum of ninety percent coverage of all citizens, and then provide speeds of at least 100 Mbps down/20 Mbps for all residents, regardless of location. Current projects include collection of broadband data, network infrastructure development, and affordable connectivity options for all residents. In 2019 they began an initiative to encourage local communities to expand their access through the USDA’s ReConnect program, in hopes of connecting more small business, rural homes and communities.
