Broadband in Mississippi
Having some of the poorest internet access in the country, almost a third of the Mississippi residents reside in low coverage areas of the state. Recently the Mississippi Broadband Enabling Act was signed. This initiative will help enable electrical co ops to also provide internet service options. To expand accessibility, the existing infrastructure will be expanded and improved to deliver high-speed connections to homes, businesses, schools etc across the state, especially rural locations. A combined effort by both local government and private service companies will drive the growth of networks and connectivity.
