Broadband in Michigan According to The Michigan Broadband Roadmap, over 300K residents have no internet access options, and almost half of all residents only have one internet provider available. This project was created in 2018 to increase access in under or unserved areas, increase overall broadband adoption, and improve existing infrastructure. The Roadmap encourages more investment in broadband, increasing visibility to low-cost broadband solutions, and increasing workers in telecommunications in the state. The overarching goal is to deliver the federal broadband standard of 25 mbps download and 3 mbps upload to all homes, businesses, schools, etc at the local level by 2022.
