Broadband in Maryland As part of the National Rural Broadband Public-Private Partnership, Maryland recently announced partnerships with the Microsoft corporation and a local networking business to expand broadband availability to all underserved areas and counties. For example, fiber infrastructure access was enabled for of Garrett County to supply affordable high speed internet to its residents. The state plans to expand these activities to even more towns and communities that are lagging in broadband connectivity.
