Broadband in Hawaii
In 2007, the Hawaiian legislature created the Hawaii Broadband Task Force, and the Hawaii Broadband Initiative in 2011. Along with aid from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, these efforts mapped the availability of high speed connections throughout the state. The goal is to use this data, along with federal funding, to increase broadband access and performance for local businesses, municipal organizations and residential households.
